Adult Martial Arts for Monterey County

Are adults too old to begin martial arts training?

Absolutely not!

There is no age cut-off to begin learning martial arts, and at UMAC, we believe it is a great way for adults to get back in shape or maintain a healthy lifestyle. There is no such thing as “not being flexible enough” for martial arts, and we welcome new students of any age to give us a try!

It can be difficult to make new friends as an adult, martial arts classes at UMAC in Carmel Valley will introduce you to a great community of like-minded individuals while you learn self defense and gain confidence.  We aren’t a typical martial arts school, we focus our adult classes on self-defense, how to maintain a physically and mentally healthy lifestyle, and skills that you will use in the office and outside of classes.

Here at UMAC Carmel Valley, we would rather take the person who has the drive and desire to improve their own well-being rather than the perfect athlete not willing to put in the hard work and dedication.  We are excited at the opportunity to meet all walks of life so we can learn and grow alongside them.

“ I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times. ”
